JBS S.A. (B3: JBSS3), the world’s largest meatpacker, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Korea’s Highland Food Group Co., Ltd. on July 28, 2026, to aggressively expand its distribution and market share in South Korea and other strategic Asian markets. The agreement provides a framework for JBS to solidify its presence in a high-value protein market and is a clear indicator of the Brazilian agribusiness giant’s focus on capturing higher-margin sales by moving beyond raw commodity exports. The strategic deal was inked during a high-level Brazil-Korea Business Roundtable in São Paulo, underscoring the importance of the initiative to the broader economic ties between the two nations, which already see South Korea importing approximately 80% of its chicken from Brazil.
