Market estimates are converging around 630 million tons of sugarcane for the 2026/27 crop year, a volume that is expected to reinforce Brazil’s position as the marginal supplier to the global market. The efficiency gains from the current dry weather, which allows mills to run 24 hours a day in three shifts, compounds the strong volume outlook driven by favorable early-season rains. One major mill in Tabapuã, São Paulo, upgraded its individual forecast for the 2026/27 cycle by approximately 5%, raising expected output from 2.9 million to 3.05 million tons, a microcosm of the upward revisions seen across the sector.
