Brazil Secures Immediate Zero-Tariff Access to Singapore Market on August 1st

Brazilian goods will gain immediate, full, and zero-tariff access to the Singapore market starting August 1, following Brazil’s final ratification of the Mercosur-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on June 30. Singapore, a critical Asian trade hub and Brazil’s key destination for high-value exports, will eliminate tariffs on 100% of all Mercosur shipments, instantly lowering the landed cost for Brazilian companies and significantly boosting their competitiveness in the region. This regulatory change applies to a trade corridor that generated $7.4 billion in Brazilian exports in 2025, according to government data, providing a material tailwind for export-focused firms beginning in the third quarter.
