American retail investors holding shares of neobank Inter & Co saw a major leadership shake-up on October 13, 2026, designed to accelerate product monetization and credit operations. The executive reorganization aims to streamline the company's path toward its long-term financial efficiency goals.

The Belo Horizonte, Brazil-based digital bank, which serves 44 million customers worldwide, announced the changes in a Form 6-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on October 13, 2026. Under the new structure, Senior Vice President positions will become the highest-ranking executive management roles within its main operating subsidiary, Banco Inter S.A.

New Leadership Roles

Francisco Santos will join Inter & Co as Senior Vice President and Chief Growth Officer. Santos, who previously served as CEO of the retail-focused financial platform Midway, has held senior roles at major Brazilian institutions including Itaú Unibanco, Santander Brasil, and BTG Pactual. In his new role, Santos is tasked with coordinating business priorities in Brazil, deepening client engagement, and accelerating product monetization.

Concurrently, Alexandre Riccio is taking on an expanded group-level role as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Riccio, who joined the company in 2013 and recently served as CEO in Brazil, has also been appointed Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. He will oversee credit, collections, and operations across all markets where the group operates.

Focus on Monetization

The management evolution signals a transition toward a unified, group-level operating model intended to enhance efficiency and cross-market scalability. Rather than focusing solely on user acquisition, the new executive layout prioritizes optimizing existing product sets and increasing average revenue per user.

The reorganization comes as the company continues to work toward its "60-30-30" long-term plan, which targets 60 million customers, a 30% efficiency ratio, and a 30% return on equity. By placing credit and operations under Riccio and growth under Santos, the company is attempting to balance aggressive monetization with tight operational risk management.
