Digital Bank Inter Overhauls Leadership to Drive Global Expansion
Nasdaq-listed digital bank Inter & Co has restructured its executive team, eliminating the local Brazil CEO role to focus on international growth and domestic monetization.

If you hold shares of digital banking pioneer Inter & Co in your US brokerage account, your investment is about to be guided by a significantly streamlined leadership team. The company is removing a layer of local management in its primary market to clear a direct path for global expansion and more aggressive monetization.
On October 13, 2026, Inter Global CEO João Vitor Menin announced a major management restructure that eliminates the standalone role of Brazil CEO. The decision is designed to simplify the corporate hierarchy, allowing the bank's top executives to focus on replicating its digital super-app playbook internationally while squeezing more revenue out of its massive domestic user base.
Under the new structure, Alexandre Riccio, who was appointed as the CEO for Brazil in July 2024, has been promoted to Senior Vice President Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice Chairman of the Board. In this expanded, group-wide role, Riccio will oversee credit, collections, and operations across all geographic markets. His primary mandate is to export the operating model that made Inter a household name in South America to new international markets.
To fill the operational gap in its home market, Inter has hired Francisco Santos as its new Senior Vice President Chief Growth Officer. Santos, the former CEO of financial services platform Midway, is a retail finance veteran with previous leadership stints at PicPay, Cielo, Itaú Unibanco, and Santander. At Inter, Santos will be tasked with deepening client engagement and accelerating monetization across the bank's 45 million clients in Brazil.
This executive reshuffle comes as Inter increasingly aligns its operations with its "Rule of 50" strategy, a financial framework targeting a combined metric of annual revenue growth and net income margin of 50%. While Inter has successfully captured a 9% market share in Brazil's instant payment system, Pix, it holds only a 2% to 3% share in other financial services, leaving substantial room for domestic cross-selling under Santos's watch.
