Brazilian collateralized credit platform Creditas delivered a crucial blueprint for profitability in the LatAm fintech sector in the second quarter, leveraging deep artificial intelligence (AI) integration to pair record origination volume with a stable, near-breakeven operating loss. The company reported a record quarterly origination of R$1.14 billion, marking a significant 34.2% year-over-year increase, while holding its operating loss flat at R$33.7 million. This result confirms the success of a structural efficiency drive that has slashed the operating loss by nearly 90% from its R$321 million peak in 2022, demonstrating that high growth and disciplined cost management are not mutually exclusive in Brazil’s challenging high-interest rate environment.
