Circle’s $400 Million Tazapay Buy Bolsters USDC Infrastructure Play in Brazil’s Digital Economy

Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, has signed an agreement to acquire Singapore-based B2B cross-border payments firm Tazapay for $400 million in an all-stock transaction, a deal that signals a significant strategic investment in the infrastructure for global digital commerce, with Brazil as a key beneficiary. The acquisition, expected to close in 2027 pending regulatory approvals, is designed to integrate Tazapay’s deep network of payment rails in over 100 markets directly into Circle's ecosystem, accelerating the goal of establishing USDC as the default settlement rail for business-to-business payments in emerging economies.
