Brazil AI Startup Urbis Secures R$ 2M Pre-Seed Funding
Ceará-based martech Urbis raises R$ 2 million in its first institutional pre-seed round to integrate generative AI into its white-label loyalty platforms.

Northeastern Brazilian martech startup Urbis has secured R$ 2 million ($394,000) in its first institutional pre-seed funding round, highlighting a growing venture capital appetite for regional B2B SaaS platforms leveraging generative artificial intelligence. The round was co-led by early-stage platform Investidores.vc and FIP Nordeste, a regional development fund managed by Triáxis Capital and Crescera Capital. The transaction comes amid a broader consolidation in Latin American tech, even as the local benchmark Ibovespa today fell 0.78% to 175,346 points and the USD BRL currency pair hovered near R$ 5.08.
Based in Fortaleza, Ceará, Urbis spent five years operating in bootstrap mode, growing its software-as-a-service (SaaS) revenues at a consistent 100% annual rate. The startup currently serves 110 corporate clients, including major media group Estadão and soccer club Esporte Clube Bahia, tracking the consumer habits of more than 1 million active users. According to company data, clients utilizing Urbis's customized engagement tools saw customer churn rates drop by up to 35%.
The newly raised capital will be deployed to integrate generative AI capabilities into Urbis's white-label loyalty platforms. The company is targeting Brazil's massive, underserved recurring-revenue market, specifically focusing on the country's 20,000 independent internet service providers (ISPs). By automating hyper-personalized benefit curation and predictive churn analysis, Urbis aims to scale its transaction and marketplace division tenfold over the next two years.
This regional funding milestone underscores the expanding pipeline of high-margin B2B software opportunities outside of the traditional São Paulo hub. For global investors tracking B3 stocks or allocating capital via the MSCI Brazil ETF (EWZ), the steady growth of regional SaaS startups like Urbis demonstrates the resilience of Brazil's domestic digital economy, despite broader macroeconomic headwinds and fluctuating commodity prices affecting heavyweights like Vale (VALE) and Petrobras (PBR).
