B3 Launches Bitcoin, Solana, and Ethereum Future Options
Brazil's B3 exchange launches regulated future options for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, offering institutional and retail investors structured hedging tools.

SÃO PAULO — Brazil’s official stock exchange, B3 (B3SA3), officially expanded its digital asset ecosystem on Monday, July 6, 2026, by launching future options for Bitcoin (BIT/USD), Ethereum (ETR/USD), and Solana (SOL/USD). The introduction of these regulated derivatives contracts provides both institutional and retail investors with sophisticated, structured hedging mechanisms designed to navigate crypto market volatility.
The newly launched derivatives contracts feature daily expiration dates, allowing traders to execute highly tactical hedging strategies and structured trade setups. Unlike trading on unregulated offshore platforms, these products operate entirely within B3's fully cleared and regulated environment. This regulatory oversight effectively mitigates the counterparty and fraud risks historically associated with non-domestic, decentralized exchanges.
The launch comes amid steady local demand for digital assets. As of July 8, 2026, Bitcoin is trading at BRL 319,933, while Ethereum stands at BRL 8,955.91. Under the contract specifications, the options will have automatic exercise on their expiration dates. Upon exercise, investors do not receive the physical cryptocurrency; instead, they settle into a long or short position in the corresponding underlying futures contract at the pre-determined strike price.
To support market depth and price discovery, B3 has integrated dedicated market makers to maintain continuous buy and sell orders. The contracts will trade independently from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM local time. This rollout marks a significant step in the professionalization of Latin America’s largest derivatives market, offering a secure avenue for capital allocation in major digital assets.
