Motiva (MOTV3) Net Profit Jumps 67% on New Concessions, Bolstering Toll Road Focus
Brazil infrastructure operator Motiva S.A. (MOTV3) reported a 67.0% increase in 2Q26 adjusted net profit, driven by new highway concessions.

Motiva S.A. (MOTV3), one of Brazil's largest mobility infrastructure operators, posted a substantial 67.0% year-over-year increase in adjusted net profit in the second quarter of 2026 (2Q26), reaching R$663 million. The result, which exceeded analyst consensus, signals a robust growth phase fueled by the successful incorporation of new highway concessions, aligning with the company's strategic pivot to focus on its core toll road and rail assets.
The significant profit expansion was underpinned by strong operational growth across the company’s portfolio. Adjusted EBITDA climbed 30.1% year-over-year to R$2.37 billion, largely driven by newly integrated assets. Crucially, the growth mechanism stemmed from the contribution of new concessions, notably the start of operations for the key Minas_SP (Fernão Dias) highway. This concession, which connects the economically vital states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, began operations on April 2, 2026, and its successful integration, along with other new assets, contributed R$370 million to the quarter’s Adjusted EBITDA. The company also saw its adjusted EBITDA margin expand by 4.7 percentage points to 65.3% in the period.
Motiva's strong performance comes as the broader Brazilian stock market faces pressure, with the benchmark Ibovespa (IBOV) falling 1.52% to 173,885.34 on the day. The company's focus on its core infrastructure business, cemented by the prior year's sale of its airport assets, has strengthened its cash flow visibility and improved its return metrics.
For investors tracking the infrastructure sector in Brazil, the forward-looking strategy remains centered on Motiva's continued pursuit of high-value concessions. The company is confirmed to be preparing to bid on the upcoming Regis Bittencourt road concession auction. Furthermore, a near-term event to watch is the June 30th amendment to the Renovias concession agreement, which extended its term until October 31, 2026, signaling ongoing negotiations to solidify the future of its existing portfolio. These concession moves, paired with the successful start of the Fernão Dias operation, are the key determinants for whether Motiva can sustain its current growth trajectory and capitalize on the current Brazilian government’s push for infrastructure privatization.
