Brazil’s 3tentos Faces Earnings Test After 21.9% Stock Plunge on Grim Outlook
Brazilian agribusiness 3tentos reports Q2 2026 earnings after stock fell sharply on a warning about compressed industrial margins in its biodiesel division.

The Brazilian integrated agribusiness company 3tentos S.A. is scheduled to release its second-quarter 2026 earnings on August 13, forcing investors to weigh the long-term bullish sentiment against a deep correction that erased more than one-fifth of its market value last month. Shares of 3tentos (TTEN3), a high-growth small-cap stock on the B3 exchange, fell 21.9% in July after company executives signaled a significantly weaker outlook for the quarter, largely due to a sharp drop in margins. The stock price was recently trading near R$11.35.
The steep selloff followed a warning in late July that the company's profitability in the soybean crushing and biodiesel segment would fall well short of analyst estimates. Analysts identified the margin deterioration in the industrial division as the mechanism behind the stock’s move, with the gross profit on soybean crushing expected to drop to approximately $75 per metric ton from $106 per metric ton in the first quarter. This near-term disappointment caused the stock, which is often called the "WEG of agribusiness" for its consistent growth, to trade at its lowest level in nearly two years.
For the foreign investor, 3tentos operates as a complete agricultural ecosystem across three segments: Input Retail, Grain origination, and Industrialization. It sells seeds and fertilizers to farmers, buys back the harvested grain, and then processes that grain into products like soybean meal, oil, and biodiesel in its plants across Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso. This integrated model, which provides a measure of hedge against volatile commodity prices, is the foundation of the long-term case that many analysts still maintain.
Despite the negative signal, the analyst community remains broadly supportive of the stock, seeing the correction as an overreaction that does not reflect a change in the company's long-term prospects. At least eleven different firms cover the stock. Key analysts at firms like BTG Pactual and Citi argued that the margin volatility is common and not a sign of structural deterioration in the company's fundamental position. The short-term focus remains on the second-quarter report, for which analysts have revised the consensus earnings per share (EPS) forecast down to R$0.16.
The key event to watch will be the full earnings report and the executive conference call scheduled for the morning of August 14. Clarity will be needed on whether the industrial margin compression is strictly a cyclical issue related to biodiesel pricing, or if it indicates deeper issues with the company's capital-intensive expansion plans, such as its new corn ethanol plant.
What it touches The performance of 3tentos touches the broader Brazilian and South American agricultural sector. The company’s stock movement should be watched alongside other major players, such as JBS S.A. (JBS), which trades at 14.23 USD (+3.94%) in New York, and Adecoagro S.A. (AGRO), which was recently trading at 9.45 USD (+0.96%).
