A deep-seated political and judicial rivalry in Brazil escalated sharply after confidential banking and tax data belonging to Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Cristiano Zanin and his family was publicly exposed in an election filing by Senate candidate Deltan Dallagnol. The Paraná Regional Electoral Court (TRE-PR) on Saturday ordered an immediate seal on the documents, which span over 5,000 pages, and forwarded the case to the Public Ministry for a potential criminal probe into the leak of protected third-party information.
