StoneCo Prepares for Q3 Earnings After Massive Special Dividend
StoneCo will release its Q3 2026 financial results on November 12, 2026, marking its first full quarter of operations after returning R$3.08 billion to shareholders.

Global investors holding shares of retail payment processors are turning their focus to the upcoming third-quarter earnings season to see how corporate restructurings are translating into core business growth. A major test of this transition is approaching as one of the most prominent international fintech names on Wall Street enters its pre-earnings quiet period.
StoneCo Ltd., the financial technology provider listed on the Nasdaq exchange, announced that it will release its third-quarter 2026 financial results on Thursday, November 12, 2026, after the market closes. The company, which provides card processing, banking, and credit software to small and medium-sized merchants, will enter its official regulatory quiet period on October 28, 2026.
The upcoming report represents the first full quarter of operations since StoneCo completed a massive restructuring of its balance sheet. Following the sale of its retail software unit, Linx, which was finalized in early 2026, the company paid out an extraordinary one-time cash dividend of US$2.53 per share on May 4, 2026. The payout distributed approximately R$3.08 billion (roughly US$606 million) back to shareholders, significantly lowering the company's equity base and normalizing its capital ratio to 26.3% as of the end of the second quarter.
With the proceeds of the Linx divestment fully distributed, the market's attention has shifted entirely to StoneCo’s organic performance in Brazil’s highly competitive payments market. During its last earnings call on August 13, 2026, management noted that while they are maintaining their full-year 2026 financial targets—including an adjusted basic earnings guidance of R$10.8 to R$11.4 per share—macroeconomic headwinds in Brazil are likely to push final performance toward the lower end of their guidance ranges.
The company has been actively shifting its strategy to position itself as a comprehensive financial partner for Brazilian entrepreneurs, integrating banking and credit products to deepen customer relationships. However, this expansion has come with rising credit risks. In its second-quarter SEC filings, StoneCo reported that provisions for expected loan losses rose to R$187.6 million, driven by the expansion of its credit portfolio and weaker repayment vintages from late 2025 and early 2026. The November 12 report will show whether these credit pressures have stabilized or continue to weigh on the company's bottom line.
