A key commission in the Brazil Chamber of Deputies has approved a bill creating a new national policy to promote artificial intelligence (AI) with substantial tax incentives—provided that the resulting intellectual property (IP) remains locked in the country for at least five years. The Chamber’s Commission on Science, Technology and Innovation (CCTI) approved the 'Pontaria' bill, which aims to develop a homegrown Brazilian AI industry through significant R&D subsidies.
