Gerdau Reports Strong Q3 Profit and Outlines New Dividend Schedule
Steelmaker Gerdau S.A. reported a 39.7% jump in third-quarter profit and approved a new dividend distribution backed by resilient North American operations.

One of the largest steelmakers in the Americas reported a sharp rise in profitability, backed by strong industrial operations in the United States. On October 26, 2026, the board of directors of Gerdau S.A. approved a new quarterly dividend distribution of R$ 0.34 per share. According to the company's announcement, shareholders of record before November 12, 2026 will be eligible for the dividend payment on December 22, 2026.
The payout follows a highly profitable third quarter for the São Paulo-based multinational, which manufactures long and special steel. According to the company's third-quarter earnings report filed on October 26, 2026, adjusted net profit reached R$ 1.52 billion (approximately $266 million). This represents a 39.7% surge compared to the same period in 2025, driven by robust performance in its industrial operations.
While Gerdau is headquartered in Brazil, its financial engine is deeply tied to the US economy. The company's North American business segment—which supplies steel to US civil construction, automotive, and infrastructure projects—accounted for more than 76% of its consolidated adjusted EBITDA during the third quarter of 2026. The region delivered R$ 2.9 billion in adjusted EBITDA, registering a four-year margin high of 27.7%. This strong performance in the US successfully insulated the steelmaker from softer margins and heavy steel import pressures in its domestic Brazilian market.
The total dividend distribution will return R$ 667 million to shareholders. Alongside the cash distribution, Gerdau's board confirmed it will continue executing its active 2026 share repurchase program. The financial health of the steelmaker was also recognized by rating agency S&P Global, which revised Gerdau's credit outlook to Positive from Stable on October 22, 2026, maintaining its investment-grade BBB rating. S&P Global cited expectations of a stronger operating and financial profile over the coming years, supported by the resilient performance of its North American operations and low leverage.
