Brazilian fashion retailer Riachuelo, controlled by Guararapes Confecções S.A., delivered its strongest second-quarter financial performance on record, reporting a net income of R$ 167.9 million for the period, a 36.2% increase year-over-year. The landmark result, disclosed after the close yesterday, was immediately followed by the company's announcement that it will re-enter an aggressive expansion mode, planning to open 14 new stores after years of limited additions, signaling robust confidence in its operational turnaround and capital efficiency in the challenging high-interest rate retail environment. On the B3 today, the company's stock, RIAA3, showed a slight gain of 0.38%, trading at R$ 7.95, even as the broader Ibovespa index (IBOV) recorded a marginal dip of 0.09% to 177,726.17 points.
