Paranapanema Secures $40M Dubai Investment Offer
Brazilian copper producer Paranapanema S.A. receives a binding $40 million investment proposal from Dubai-based HW Holding Ltd. amid judicial recovery.

Brazilian copper producer Paranapanema S.A. (PMAM3) announced on July 15, 2026, that it has received a binding $40 million investment proposal from Dubai-based HW Holding Ltd.. The capital injection offers critical liquidity to the distressed company, which remains under a complex judicial recovery process. Following the announcement, Paranapanema shares, traded on the B3 exchange under the ticker PMAM3, surged 17.86% to close at R$ 0.33.
The $40 million investment is structured in two equal tranches of $20 million. The first tranche is earmarked for the acquisition of debentures issued by the company, aimed at reducing its overall debt burden. The second tranche will be allocated directly to working capital and the purchase of raw materials, strengthening the company's immediate operational capacity.
Paranapanema is Brazil's largest non-integrated producer of refined copper, but it has faced financial challenges since entering judicial recovery in late 2022. The binding offer from HW Holding Ltd. arrives as the company continues its broader debt restructuring efforts, which recently included a partial settlement agreement with key creditors to address its outstanding liabilities.
The announcement comes amid mixed movements in the broader Brazilian market. The benchmark Ibovespa index (IBOV) traded down 0.36% at 176,010.9 points. Among major market heavyweights, mining giant Vale (VALE3) rose 0.68% to 74.51, while state-run oil firm Petrobras (PETR4) slipped 0.17% to 40.59, and financial giant Itaú Unibanco (ITUB4) fell 1.12% to 43.14.
