Brazil Court Freezes Assets of Euro Securitizadora on Signs of 'Patrimonial Destructuring'

The São Paulo Justice system is accelerating the blocking of assets and accounts against Euro Securitizadora, a firm at the center of a major default, after a court identified signs of "patrimonial destructuring"—a legal term in Brazil for the deliberate draining of corporate assets. The finding by the state court goes beyond simple payment delays, suggesting the company, part of Grupo Euro 17, may have been moving to shield its assets from creditors as it defaulted on an estimated R$741 million (about $130 million) in liabilities to over 4,200 retail investors.
