BNDES/Treasury Fund R$21.2 Billion Fleet Renewal to Boost Brazil Auto and Parts Industry

Brazil's state-owned development bank, BNDES, and the National Treasury have mobilized a substantial R$21.2 billion ($3.95 billion USD) to fund a new credit line aimed at renewing the country's fleet of heavy vehicles, providing an immediate and targeted stimulus to the national automotive and auto parts industry. The injection, part of the "BNDES Mais Mobilidade" initiative, focuses on financing the purchase of new trucks, buses, micro-buses, and road implements to improve safety and lower environmental impact across Brazil's transport sector. The capital is funneled through subsidized credit lines for individual truckers, cooperatives, and transport companies, with the application window open until late August.
