Gerdau files SEC dividend schedule for US brokerage accounts
Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau S.A. has detailed its upcoming dividend payout in a Form 6-K SEC filing, establishing key dates and amounts for US investors.

American retail investors holding shares of industrial giants in their brokerage accounts have a concrete cash event on the horizon. Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau S.A. has formalized its next dividend distribution, detailing the exact timeline and amounts that will route directly into foreign portfolios. For US-based investors, the transaction bypasses local currency complexities by converting the payout directly from Brazilian reais into US dollars.
In a Form 6-K regulatory filing submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 26, 2026, Gerdau announced a cash dividend of R$0.34 per share. This distribution serves as an advance payment on the company's mandatory minimum dividend for fiscal year 2026. While local shareholders in Brazil will receive their payments on December 15, 2026, the company has established a separate, dedicated track for its US-listed shares.
For US brokerage accounts, the critical dates are now locked in. According to the SEC filing, the record date and the ex-dividend date for Gerdau's US-listed shares are both set for November 12, 2026. Investors who hold the stock before this cutoff will see the cash credited to their accounts on the scheduled US payment date of December 22, 2026. The final dollar amount per share will fluctuate slightly based on the prevailing USD-BRL exchange rate at the time of conversion.
Stronger Earnings Fuel the Payout
The dividend approval follows a robust third-quarter financial performance for the São Paulo-based steel producer. Gerdau reported an adjusted EBITDA of R$3.8 billion for the third quarter of 2026, marking a 10% increase compared to the second quarter of 2026. This operational momentum was heavily driven by the company's North American business segment, which accounted for more than 76% of its consolidated EBITDA and achieved a four-year margin high of 27.7%.
While steel demand in South America remains sensitive to regional economic policies and infrastructure spending, Gerdau’s heavy industrial footprint in the US has acted as a buffer. The company's board also approved the cancellation of 277,600 common shares on October 26, 2026, as part of its ongoing capital optimization and share buyback program, which further concentrates value for remaining shareholders.
