Brazil’s Largest Renewable Energy Fund SNEL11 Hits Record High on Plan for 270% Solar Power Expansion
Brazilian Renewable Energy Infrastructure Fund SNEL11 reached a new peak amid a massive capital raise to fund new solar power projects.

The Brazilian renewable energy investment trust, SNEL11, hit a historic high on August 7, 2026, with quotas trading around R$8.37, as it executes a massive capital raise designed to bankroll a major expansion into solar power generation. The fund, formally the Suno Energias Limpas Fundo de Investimento Imobiliário (FII), is engaged in its fifth quota issuance, a move that could nearly quadruple its net equity and position it as a heavyweight in Brazil’s fast-growing solar distributed generation market.
The central mechanism driving the fund’s historic valuation is the potential surge in its asset base. The ongoing capital injection, which constitutes the 5th quota issuance, has the capacity to increase the fund's Net Equity from its pre-issuance R$889.9 million to as much as R$3.29 billion, representing a potential expansion of nearly 270%. This aggressive move has been met with significant investor interest, as reflected in the fund’s quotaholder base, which expanded to more than 123,000 on the day it renewed its total return maximum. The growth signals increasing confidence in the segment of Brazilian infrastructure funds focused on clean energy, a sector that offers tax-exempt returns to individual investors.
The proceeds from the capital raise are earmarked for aggressive expansion of its portfolio of solar projects across Brazil. SNEL11 currently operates 42 commercial solar plants in 11 states, with an installed capacity of 149.4 MWp. The fund’s stated goal is to use the newly raised capital to increase that capacity to 635.2 MWp through the acquisition of 187 new projects. The fund's manager, Suno Asset, has historically prioritized the acquisition of projects that are already operational and connected to the grid, backed by long-term contracts, a strategy aimed at minimizing construction risk and ensuring a predictable revenue stream from the outset.
The successful conclusion of the 5th issuance and the rapid deployment of capital into the new pipeline of solar assets are the next key milestones for investors to watch. The expansion is strategically timed, coinciding with projections from the International Energy Agency (IEA) that solar power will lead the global expansion of renewable energy through 2030, a trend that reinforces the long-term outlook for distributed generation projects in Brazil.
What it touches SNEL11 is traded on the B3, Brazil's stock exchange. The strong interest in the fund underscores the broader demand for clean energy infrastructure exposure in the country. This trend is visible across the segment, as global investors seek dedicated exposure to the sector, often through funds or private equity vehicles. For context, Pátria Investments (PAX), a major manager of infrastructure assets in Latin America, saw its shares trade up 2.67% at $11.53 on the Nasdaq this morning, reflecting a continued, though separate, appetite for the region’s long-term infrastructure story.
