A lack of consistent rainfall in three of Brazil’s most important soybean production hubs is threatening to delay the start of the 2026/27 planting season, immediately exposing the new crop to water-stress risk. In the Center-West and Northeast, critical agricultural centers in Mato Grosso, Goiás, and Bahia have experienced seven or more dry days, hindering farmers’ ability to sow seeds for the crop that will become the world’s main supply source next year.
