A persistent dry spell in the heart of Brazil's newest agricultural frontier is raising concerns over early crop-stress risks for the upcoming planting season. The municipality of Luís Eduardo Magalhães, located in the western portion of Bahia state, has recorded seven consecutive dry days with a mere 0.8 millimeters of rainfall over the last week. This lack of moisture contrasts sharply with other major agricultural regions, such as Cascavel in Paraná, which registered 109.1 millimeters of rain and only two dry days over the same period.
