On October 1, 2026, U.S. medical device developer Nexalin Technology announced a definitive 10-year exclusive distribution and local manufacturing agreement with Inovanexa Medical Technologies. The deal establishes a localized manufacturing footprint in Brazil, allowing the company to bypass steep import hurdles and scale its non-invasive neurostimulation technology across seven South American nations with a combined population of over 300 million people.

The agreement targets a massive regional healthcare challenge. In Brazil alone, more than 35 million of the country's 215 million citizens suffer from mental health disorders. Under the terms of the deal, Inovanexa will distribute the Nexalin Sync device, which has already received regulatory approval from ANVISA, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency, to treat anxiety, depression, and insomnia. The approval was supported by clinical trials at the University of São Paulo's Hospital das Clínicas, which demonstrated a 77.8% anxiety response rate.

To navigate Brazil’s notoriously complex import taxes and regulatory environment, the partnership uses a phased localization strategy. Inovanexa has placed an initial order for 10 devices to launch a clinical pilot program in Brazil within 90 days. Once the distributor purchases its first 30 units, it is contractually required to build and fund a local manufacturing facility in Brazil at its own expense. This setup allows Nexalin to generate recurring royalty streams on locally assembled devices and disposable electrodes without financing the factory itself.

Operating under the trade name "Nexalin LATAM," the distributor is authorized to pitch the neurostimulation devices directly to public hospital tenders and government procurement contracts across federal, state, and municipal channels. Beyond Brazil, the exclusive distribution rights extend to Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Venezuela.

What it touches

The agreement directly affects Nasdaq-listed Nexalin Technology, Inc. (NXL), which is attempting to transition from a pre-revenue research firm into a commercial-stage exporter. While the deal opens up a massive South American market, the stock remains a highly volatile micro-cap, with its share price experiencing sharp swings on October 1, 2026, as daily trading volume surged to thousands of times its historical average.
